DIY: Jewelry Display

I've been looking for a way to display my jewelry for a while now, but could never find anything I really liked. That is, until I stumbled upon this wooden accordion rack at the craft store. For less than $10.00 (score!!), I knew I had found the perfect jewelry rack.

While these wooden racks are typically reserved for scarves and hats, re-purposing it as a jewelry rack has worked out pretty great. Now, my jewelry is proudly displayed on my wall where it brightens my room and beckons for me to wear it. The crafty side of me is thinking of painting it, but I've decided (at least for now) that I like the beauty of the natural wood showing through. An added bonus... this might just be the easiest DIY I've ever done.  ;)

My jewelry is much more appreciated now that it is no longer hiding away in a jewelry box.  Do you guys have any tips or tricks for displaying jewelry?

  1. I have an old antique earring rack that my mum bought me that I hand all my jewelry on. It's really gorgeous. I have all my scarves hanging on a display like this one, though, and I adore it! It makes pretty well art as well as being functional!

  8. I use a scarf hook too for my jewellery, I got it in the sale from dotcomgiftshop.com for £3 last Christmas.
I sprayed it pale pink to match my bedroom :)
I love the wood though! Next I want to find a nice way to display all my brooches.

  12. This is a great idea–I would have never thought of it! I display my jewelry on a necklace tree and in pretty little bowls and trays on my dresser. Most pieces are too pretty to have hidden away!

  13. I welded a jewelry tree last year and spray painted it black and it holds all my necklaces. I love your idea too. And that pink necklace is so pretty!

  20. CUTE! I use a little box with drawers, but things get lost... it's really kind of an awful system. I need a new one. :)
