Just a few photos from a recent stroll through my mother-in-law's amazing backyard garden. The garden is both rustic and beautiful with hand constructed wooden fences enclosing the fragrant blooms. I love how she added a touch of whimsy to the yard with darling teapot planters and a homemade scarecrow with major personality. I can't wait to steal some of her ideas for my own yard....

The amazing wooden fences were constructed by hand. While this project was a large undertaking, the result provides a charming cottage garden appeal while also serving to keep pesky deer away from the blooms.

After seeing this cute teapot planter, I'm itching to go thrifting for teapots to create a set of whimsical tea party planters of my own! I'm picturing succulents spilling out of a tea set.

The face of this scarecrow is nothing more than an old painted shovel. Add some thrift store clothes and a few embellishments and you've got a scarecrow with personality to boot...brilliant!

Have any garden tips, tricks or ideas you'd like to share?
